Biography:
Ambassador Elchin Amirbayov served as a Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations in New York; as a Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations in New York; as Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, and other international organizations in Geneva; as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Swiss Confederation in different years. He was accredited as the first Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Holy See, in 2005. He held the positions of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Principality of Liechtenstein (2006-2010) and France (2010-2017). He was appointed Assistant to the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva in 2017.
