The "Caspian Basin Studies" Program Brings Together Representatives of 18 Countries
On April 15, we hosted the opening ceremony of the "Caspian Basin Studies" program.
The program brings together foreign diplomats from 18 countries, representatives of academic institutions, and think tanks focused on the Caspian region.
Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Egypt, Nepal, Jordan, Kuwait, Türkiye, Brazil, and other countries are among the represented states.
At the opening ceremony, ADA University’s Vice Rector and IDD’s Director, Fariz Ismailzade, along with his Advisor and IDD’s Deputy Director, Aygun Hajiyeva, welcomed the participants.
Vice Rector Fariz Ismailzade highlighted the "Caspian Basin Studies" as a humanitarian bridge between diverse continents. Through the program, diplomats gain a comprehensive understanding of not only our nation but also the broader Caspian region. The speaker emphasised that the presence of the ambassadors from Hungary, Moldova, Tajikistan, Jordan, Pakistan, and Brazil at today's opening ceremony signifies the importance of the program.
Speaking about the history of ADA University, IDD’s Deputy Director Aygun Hajiyeva touched upon the background of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy and the “Caspian Basin Studies” program in her speech.
While emphasising the balanced academic and practical approach of the program, which encourages participants to collaborate on group projects and researches on relevant topic, Ms. Hajiyeva mentioned that it fosters networking among representatives by enhancing their understanding of the region's history, culture, and demographic makeup.
The participants will have the opportunity to attend the lectures delivered by ADA University faculty members and IDD experts, as well as high-ranking representatives from various governmental institutions and think tanks. The lectures will delve into diverse topical issues, including the geopolitical, cultural, and economic aspects of the region and the renewable energy strategies of the Caspian states.
As part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to visit Karabakh and observe the ongoing restoration and construction process.
