On March 14-18, 2023, ADA University Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) EU program has successfully conducted an EU Winter Training School on Local Governance. Elected and staff employees of city and village municipalities from Shamakhi, Agsu, Kurdemir, Qobustan, Ismailli, Barda and Mingachevir have gathered in the city of Shamakhi to participate in three-day training program on “Good Governance”.

The EU Winter Training School aimed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of local regional municipalities in effective EU local governance practices and mechanisms, to advance their knowledge in principles and priorities of the good governance and development of relevant action mechanisms, to equip local government officials with skills and knowledge for success in public service delivery. The program of the Training School was structured around lectures and group learning activities on the topics of Principles of Good governance in EU, strategic planning skills and conflict sensitivity. The School finalized with discussion of current program outcomes and future prospects of cooperation, training needs assessment of municipalities elected staff employees was conducted.
