Energy security in EU and its neighborhood: Towards Green Transition (Towards Green Europe)

Jean Monnet Module “Energy security in EU and its neighborhood: Towards Green Transition (Towards Green Europe)”

In view of unprecedented level of turbulence in energy markets, price volatility and energy insecurity across the Europe, JM Module “Energy security in EU and its neighborhood: Towards Green Transition (Towards Green Europe)” will build capacity of targeted audience on the common theme of green transition and energy security in the EU and its neighborhood, to put forward more informed research, and  purpose oriented practical teaching and training. This will be achieved through development and implementation of two major deliverables:

(1) development and delivery of academic course in Energy security and Renewables for graduate and undergraduate students
(2) intensive two-week certificate training program for mid and senior level professionals working in the field of energy and the environment in the public and private sector, and young researchers involved in policy research on energy policy.

The project aims to enable generations of knowledge, expertise and know-how sharing to contribute to green transition in European Neighborhood for stronger EU energy security. It will also address the knowledge and capacity gap and needs arising from the policy objectives directed to green transition in Azerbaijan and introduction of new strategic EU-Azerbaijan energy partnership towards development of alternative and renewable energy sources and the transition to green energy.

The strategic objective of this Module is to create a community of students, researchers and practitioners who will be equipped with knowledge and training to join the forces around the common theme of green transition and energy security in the EU and Azerbaijan. This Jean Monnet Module aims to build capacity of targeted audience on relevant topics to put forward more informed policymaking and effective training and teaching; to enable target audience to critically analyze the role of strategic partnerships in strengthening EU energy security through purpose oriented practical teaching and training. The current JM Module will be implemented by joining forces of ADA University’s Jean Monnet Center of Excellence in EU Studies (Project number: 101085083) and Energy and Sustainability Program. The Module will strengthen the EU component in teaching, training and research activities of the Center and the Program and will serve as a platform for discussion and policy analysis on green energy transition.
