Jean Monnet Module
Institute for Development and Diplomacy has been providing policy research and trainings on range of EU topics. Besides, IDD is running numerous policy-oriented programs and projects to deepen EU-Azerbaijan ties, such as the Annual ADA EU Summer School, Regional Early Career Researchers Training School, partnerships with number of European HEIs and research centers.
Jean Monnet Module "Enhancing capacity for EU-EaP resilient cooperation within new EaP beyond 2020 policy objectives: perspectives from Azerbaijan" implemented by IDD enables the targeted audience to understand different accounts of the European integration process and clarify the relationship between EU and Eastern Neighborhood in the context of new EaP policy objectives beyond 2020. Jean Monnet Module grant is supported under the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission and will be implemented for the period of April 2022-March 2025.
The project objectives will be achieved through intensive Summer School for students, recent graduates and young researchers; and Winter School for civil servants working on related fields and young researchers involved in policy research on EU Foreign Policy instruments. The strategic objective of the Module is to meet the country-wide growing needs in view of ongoing EU-Azerbaijan relations and set out new objectives for EaP policy of EU. The module will be carried out in the partnership with Italian Ca Foscary University. The proposed Jean Monnet Module seeks to enhance knowledge of students, graduates, young researchers and civil servants on EU Foreign Policy and its instruments to boost policy research; to support internationalisation of ADA University through deepening collaboration with Ca Foscary University; to create platform on ongoing debate on EU Foreign Policy.
The activities of the Jean Monnet Module on "Enhancing capacity for EU-EaP resilient cooperation within new EaP beyond 2020 policy objectives: perspectives from Azerbaijan" comprise:
EU Summer School - The program lasts for two weeks (intensive 10 studying days) during which participants develops in-depth knowledge through a dynamic range of activities including lectures, talks from guest speakers, workshops and field visits. Sessions are conducted by international and local professors and researchers in their respective domains of expertise. The program is designed for students, graduates, young researchers and young professionals studying or working in the related field. By end of the program, participants have a comprehensive understanding of current challenges and development trends that are shaping the Future of the EU today as well as how those processes influence ENP and EaP strategy of EU, internal perspectives of EaP countries on collaboration with each other and the EU in the context of regional security
EU Winter School - a week-long intensive course for civil servants and professionals working directly/closely with EU institutions and including those with a limited knowledge in EU studies. The course will enrich civil servant’s knowledge and insights in EU studies and stimulate further interest in deep learning of the relevant EU topics as well as support policy making within EU-EaP partnership.
