Apply to the 9th ADA EU Summer School on EU in Global Governance
This intensive week-long Jean Monnet Summer School on European Union Studies offers in-depth knowledge on EU policymaking, the future of the Union and its institutions, and security challenges, with a focus on the EU's role in global governance as an international actor within the context of a deteriorating international environment and global governance challenges.
The school will provide an introduction to the EU Global Strategy and various global governance challenges that the European Union has been facing in the past years, such as energy security, climate change, violent extremism, and conflicts in the Middle East and the EaP region.
The EU's core interests and principles for engaging in the wider world, its ambition to make Europe stronger, and its role in peacemaking and peacebuilding will be discussed and debated.
By the end of the program, the participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the global (in)security scenario that shapes the future of the Union, the governance challenges that the EU is confronting, its internal and external policies in this regard, and the constraints of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP).
Lectures and interactive exchanges with academicians and experts are complemented by site visits and guest lectures by real-life practitioners.
This summer school is organized by ADA University, Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) in partnership with Ca Foscari University (Italy) within the Jean Monnet Module on “Enhancing capacity for EU-EaP resilient cooperation within new EaP beyond 2020 policy objectives: perspectives from Azerbaijan." The summer school will be taught on campus. This week-long program is scheduled for mid-June 2024 (June 10–14) from Monday to Friday.
Who can apply?
Students, young professionals, and early-career researchers who wish to broaden their knowledge of European foreign policy and its institutions, European internal and external policies, the EU's international actorness, and current geopolitical developments in Europe and its neighborhood.
