Description
The Institute for Development and Diplomacy of ADA University in partnership with the ADA University Fund (Azerbaijan) organizes the 19th Baku Summer Energy School (BSES) on 23 June – 4 July 2025. The BSES 2025 will take place during 23-27 June and 3-4 July 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan and 29 June – 1 July in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
The two-week certificate program unites esteemed scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to explore and deepen their understanding of global and Caspian energy and environmental challenges. This year there will be a specific emphasis on energy connectivity and issues related to Middle Corridor. Participants will engage in discussions on diverse topics such as energy fundamentals, energy law and economics, environmental issues, climate change, oil and gas management, carbon capture and sequestration, along with insights from major energy companies including SOCAR and BP. The Aktau sessions will provide valuable regional perspectives on these themes.
The Baku Summer Energy School presents extensive networking opportunities with global leaders from the public and private sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with key speakers, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Energy, and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, as well as executives from leading energy companies like SOCAR, BP, Masdar, GL, Kolin and more.
The program also highlights excellent recreational and unique travel opportunities. Participants will receive certificates, signed by the Rector of ADA University and the President of SOCAR, upon successful completion of the program.

Eligibility
The BSES is open to both national and international professionals engaged in energy and environmental sectors, including:
· Mid-career professionals from energy companies
· Policy-makers and civil servants from governmental institutions, embassies, and international organizations
· Scholars, journalists, and graduate students focused on energy and environmental research
Costs
Tuition fee for the 2025 Baku Summer Energy School is 3100 USD. The fee includes teaching materials, local transportation, and extra-curricular activities, including field trips. International participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
Application
The application process is fast, free, and secure. Applications that are incomplete or submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
During the application process, you will be required to provideI
- A resume in English (that shows your (1) educational background; (2) employment history; (3) academic awards and (4) extracurricular activities
- A short bio (to be placed in the event brochure)
- A recent professional photo of good quality (to be placed in the event brochure; size: 5 x 5 cm)
- A passport and ID (international participants only need a passport; local applicants should also provide their national ID)
The application deadline is 30 March 2025.
