One of those lectures was led by H.E. Mr. Mohammed Murad Al Blooshi within the ‘Global Perspectives Lecture Series’.

The discussion evolved around the topic annual Climate change conference of the United Nations, also known as the ‘Conference of the Parties’ or ‘COP’ which brings together world leaders, ministers and negotiators to agree on tackling climate change issues.

Ambassador briefed the participants about the Dubai’s preparation for the COP28 to be held on November 30-December 12, 2023.

According to the Ambassador, COP28 is of particular significance as it marks the conclusion of the first Global Stocktake, a comprehensive assessment of the progress made towards achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement. The key areas of focus of COP28 will prioritize(1) the acceleration of the global energy transition, (2) climate finance, (3) nature, people, lives and livelihoods, and (4) inclusivity.
