The training program for representatives of the National Commissions for UNESCO of 14 African countries has started
The main goal of program is to deepen the cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and African countries within the framework of UNESCO, increase awareness about our country in their region and deliver updates on the restoration and construction works in our liberated lands.
Vice Rector of ADA University and Director of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy Dr. Fariz Ismailzade and Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev delivered an opening speech. The opening ceremony also featured a video addressed to the participants by UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Diplomacy, Hedva Ser.
Dr. Fariz Ismailzade expressed that this training program will strengthen cooperation and bilateral relations between the National Commissions of Azerbaijan and African countries for UNESCO.
Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Naghiyev touched upon the importance of promoting the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan with ancient history on a large scale and highlighted that the synthesis of historical traditions with modern tourism elements should be maintained during the effective management process of this heritage.
Secretary-General of the National Commission for UNESCO, Seymur Fataliyev said that 30 years have passed since the Republic of Azerbaijan became a member of UNESCO, and Azerbaijan played a significant role in promoting the organization's principles and values in these years.
Deputy Director of IDD, Aygun Hajiyeva talked about the organizational activities of the Institute and noted that IDD is training specialists working in the public and private sector, as well as in the academic sphere and ensures their professional development.
Head of Executive Education at IDD, Nargiz Ismayilova delivered a presentation and noted that within the framework of the program, which will continue till October 8, to get to know our country comprehensively, the participants will visit Azerbaijani properties inscribed on the World Heritage List.
It was noted that the training program is the first event held within the framework of the cooperation of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO and the Institute for Development and Diplomacy. The trainings will continue with the lectures of officials representing state and private institutions, ADA University professors and teachers, and representatives of international organizations operating in our country.
