Foreign Diplomats, Representatives of Academic Institutions and Think Tanks Explored Azerbaijan Through CBS Program
The CBS brought together foreign diplomats from 18 countries, representatives of academic institutions, and think tanks focused on the Caspian region.
In his address at the closing ceremony, Rector of ADA University Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, emphasized that the Caspian Basin Studies program serves as a platform to promote not only ADA University but also showcases Azerbaijan.
Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev delivered remarks on Azerbaijan's foreign policy and geopolitical identity in light of Karabakh's liberation, as well as the country's economic ties and geographically strategic position at the crossroad of the North-South and East-West transportation lines. In his remarks, the Presidential Aide defined Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29, as a demonstration of the country's diplomatic and political courage, as well as its transition to green energy. Following his remarks, Mr. Hajiyev addressed questions from CBS participants.
The closing ceremony was followed by a certificate delivery to participants and a group photo.
Within the program, on April 18, participants paid a visit to Aghdam, the liberated territory of Azerbaijan, to observe the ongoing restoration and construction process.
They visited must-see places, including the Aghdam Theatre, Conference Center, Juma Mosque, Alley of Martyrs, and other sites, while getting information about the devastation that occurred in Aghdam during the nearly 30-year occupation.
