
ADA-Luiss Forum on EU-EaP Policy was held in Rome, Italy
On June 3–4, the ADA-Luiss Forum on EU-EaP Policy was held in Rome, co-organized by ADA University’s IDD and Luiss University’s Center for International and Strategic Studies (CISS).
The forum inaugurated with remarks delivered by IDD director, Fariz Ismailzade and Director of CISS at Luiss University, Raffaele Marchetti. They highlighted the strong and enduring relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, emphasizing the importance of the establishment of Italy-Azerbaijan University.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Italian Republic, Rashad Aslanov, and senior officials from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation participated in the forum.
Over two days, participants discussed key topics shaping regional and global processes. The main themes included the growth prospects and joint challenges of Azerbaijan–Italy relations, role of Azerbaijan in maintaining energy security of Europe, regional security of Europe and its neighbours in the context of Georgia and Ukraine’s EU candidacy, and also connectivity politics in a time of strategic power rivalries.
The forum brought together experts, policymakers, and academicians from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan fostering dialogue on today’s most pressing geopolitical and economic issues. At the Forum, which also featured experts from leading think tanks of Italy, discussions focused on how perceptions and responses to regional security have evolved in Europe and its neighborhood.
