The 1st Azerbaijan–United States Think Tank Forum
On November 18, the 1st Azerbaijan–United States Think Tank Forum was held under the theme “Bridging Visions: Azerbaijan–United States Dialogue for a Strategic Partnership.”
Organized by the AIR Center the event brought together high-level experts, policymakers, academics, and practitioners to discuss key areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The forum opened with remarks by Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University, who emphasized the importance of academic expertise, evidence-based policy thinking, and institutional dialogue between the two countries.
As part of the program, Dr. Fariz Ismailzade, Vice Rector of ADA University and Director of IDD, joined Session 1 “Assessing the Washington Summit: Implications for U.S.-Azerbaijan Relations”, highlighting opportunities for strategic cooperation across political and security dimensions.
Contributing to the continuation of expert dialogue, Dr. Anar Valiyev, Associate Professor and Advisor to the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, took part in 2nd Session titled “The Armenia–Azerbaijan Peace Process Following the Washington Summit.”
The program further featured Prof. Damjan Krnjević Mišković, Director for Policy Research, Analysis and Publications at IDD, who moderated Session 3, leading discussions on energy security, regional connectivity, and the future role of the South Caucasus within broader trans-regional cooperation frameworks.
Participation at the Forum underscores ADA University and IDD’s ongoing commitment to supporting informed policy dialogue, advancing analytical scholarship, and strengthening platforms that contribute to regional and global strategic thinking.
