The 17th Baku Summer Energy School wraps up
The closing ceremony of the 17th Baku Summer Energy School was held by the joint organization of ADA University, ADA University Foundation, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), "BP Azerbaijan", "Kolin", and "Masdar”.
For the first time ever, the second half of the summer school was held the place other than Baku, in the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, with the participation of 56 participants representing 13 countries. The participants took a ferry from Baku Port to Aktau and received in-depth information on Kazakhstan's energy position and policy.
With a focus on energy and environmental issues in the Caspian region, the Baku Summer Energy School has been held annually since 2007 as a two-week certificate program that attracts prominent scientists, politicians, and experts from around the world.
Within the framework of the program, participants were given access to an extensive of information on environmental and energy issues. Distinguished national and international specialists from academia, public, and private sectors conducted trainings on topics such as energy economics, energy law, natural resource revenue management, renewable resources, sustainability, climate change, and energy geopolitics.
Italo Giuseppe Cirielli De Mola, who participated in the program from Italy, remarked that the Baku Summer Energy School is an amazing experience where you can deepen your knowledge about the energy sector, increase your network, and meet representatives of companies
The Baku Summer Energy School hosted not only participants from abroad but also 24 local experts representing a wide range of industries in Azerbaijan. Mahir Ibadov, Strategic Integration Advisor for Sangachal Terminal at BP Azerbaijan, commented on the program's Baku and Aktau sessions as following: "Participating in the Baku Summer Energy School was an incredible opportunity to learn from industry experts and network with professionals from around the world. The program's emphasis on collaborative and sustainable energy practices has greatly enlarged my horizons and will surely inform my future endeavors.”
The closing ceremony, which was attended by officials representing different institutions, concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants of the program.
