Winter issue of Baku Dialogues journal released
This edition of Baku Dialogues is essential reading for anyone who follows developments in Azerbaijan, the South Caucasus, and the Silk Road region (“Eurasia”) more generally.
The current edition features seven original articles written by acknowledged experts, analysts, and thought leaders.
On the journal`s pages, readers may discover in-depth analyses of Azerbaijan’s contemporary geo-strategic direction; two of the country’s key bilateral relationships (Israel and France); two key developments along the Silk Road region (the EU’s revision of its Eastern Partnership and the Turkish gas hub); and two critically important domestic trends (the role of the “smart village” concept in implementing the Great Return to Karabakh policy and the risks/rewards of the migration challenge).
Featured articles include “The Iceberg Melted: The Enhanced Visibility of Strategic Ties Between Israel and Azerbaijan” by Arthur Lenk, Israel’s former ambassador to Azerbaijan; “The France-Azerbaijan Relationship: Realities and Misunderstandings” by IDD’s own Maxime Gauin; and “Time for an EU Foreign Policy Update? The EU and the Silk Road Region in Wartime” by Samuel Doveri Vesterbye, who serves as the Managing Director of the European Neighbourhood Council (ENC), an independent think tank based in Brussels.
