“How to Cope with COP?”: Special Training for MFA and COP 29 Team
On February 22, 2024, the Azerbaijan branch of Deloitte, one of the Big Four professional services firms, successfully conducted a comprehensive training session titled "How to Cope with COP?" for members of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the COP29 team.
ADA University hosted the training, which aimed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively navigate the complexities of the Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations.
The training aimed to enhance the staff capabilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and COP29 team members in preparation for COP 29, particularly focusing on negotiation strategies and international collaboration.
The trainers organized sessions on the structure, objectives, and processes of COP conferences, providing participants with a clear understanding of the overall framework and its significance in global climate policy.
The participants gained a comprehensive understanding of effective negotiation strategies, focusing on negotiation techniques tailored to the COP context, which helped them develop the skills needed to effectively advocate for their countries' interests.
The sessions also covered international collaboration topics, with a special emphasis on the importance of building alliances and fostering collaboration among countries to achieve common climate objectives.
