
Roundtable on Promoting the Role of Women in the Energy Sector
The representatives from academia and the business sector came together for a roundtable discussion titled “Promoting the Role of Women in the Energy Sector,” held at ADA University.
The event focused on empowering women in the energy industry and fostering collaboration between educational institutions and businesses to support gender diversity and inclusion.
Moderated by Mrs. Aygun Hajiyeva, IDD’s Deputy Director and Advisor to the ADA University’s Vice Rector for Government, External, and Student Affairs, the discussion was led by Mrs. Kimberly D. Harrington, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Energy Resources, U.S. Department of State.
Experienced participants working in Azerbaijan's energy industry talked about the female perspective and inclusivity in this strategic area to shape the energy transition in a way that meets the needs of society as a whole.
The roundtable addressed overcoming barriers to entry and advancement for women in the energy sector, as well as the impact of mentorship programs and innovative strategies for building inclusive work environments.
