COP29 was Analyzed from European and South Caucasus Perspectives
IDD, in partnership with the Embassy of Belgium, hosted a workshop to reflect on the opportunities and challenges for climate action at COP29. The Embassy of Hungary and the EU Delegation supported the organization of this event.
Speakers from Belgium, Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the EU, and the UN discussed the opportunities and challenges of climate action for COP29, both from a European and from a regional perspective, with specific case studies as examples. The local and international experts came together to brainstorm, share progressive practices, and provide future projections.
The workshop included discussions on the various sources and mechanisms for mobilizing resources for sustainable development, public and private financing, climate funds, and innovative financial instruments such as green bonds and carbon pricing.
