"Europe Day" seminar was held at ADA University
A seminar on "Europe Day: Learn More about the European Union" was organized by the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) of ADA University and the EU Delegation on May 12 with the participation of Ambassadors and diplomats from the EU Member States. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, members of the "Young European Ambassadors" network, and students.
Nargiz Ismayilova, head of IDD’s Executive Education, welcomed the participants of the event.
EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakari Gross, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Egidius Navikas, and Foreign Ministry's Special Envoy Rashad Novruz made opening remarks on EU-Azerbaijan relations.
The speech observed that the contribution of the EU to the peace-building process in the region is remarkable. Relations with the EU, which are a reliable economic partner for Azerbaijan, are also developing in the social sphere. Moreover, expanding academic ties is of particular benefit to this development.
The second panel on "EU Policy and Partnership" was addressed by Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Viktor Szederkenyi, Bulgarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Jankov, Croatian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Branko Zebic, and Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Azerbaijan Michal Grecilo.
In another panel, Slovakian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Milan Lajiak, Chargé d'Affaires of the Latvian Embassy in Azerbaijan Vija Bush, and Head of the European Commission's Erasmus + Office Parviz Bagirov spoke on "Economy, Energy, and Society".
Representatives of the Embassies of the Czech Republic, Italy, and the other EU Member States took part in the panel discussions as well.
